College of Chemical Engineering Holds a Series of Winter Sports Activities for Faculty and Staff

To enrich the cultural and recreational life of faculty and staff, promote healthy lifestyles, build platforms for communication and interaction, and foster a positive and cohesive atmosphere for the College’s development, the College of Chemical Engineering organized a series of Winter Sports Activities for faculty and staff. The badminton tournament themed “Youth in Motion, Badminton Together” and the step-counting walking activity “Winter Walk for Health” were successfully carried out. More than 100 faculty and staff members participated enthusiastically.

Badminton Tournament: Competitive Spirit on the Court, Teamwork and Friendship in Action

From November 19 to 21, the badminton tournament was held in a lively yet well-organized atmosphere. Faculty and staff members, who usually devote themselves to teaching and administrative duties, took to the court in sportswear and demonstrated remarkable energy and enthusiasm. Upholding the sportsmanship of “Friendship First, Competition Second,” participants gave full play to their athletic skills and team spirit.  Every return, movement, and rally drew rounds of applause from the audience. Beyond skill-based competition, the tournament provided a valuable opportunity, further strengthening mutual understanding and fostering a spirit of unity and cooperation.

Walking Activity: Stepping Toward Health in Winter, Moving Forward Together

From December 2 to 5, the walking activity was conducted on a voluntary basis. Participants used step-counting tools such as WeChat Sports to record their daily steps, with 6,000 steps or more per day counted as a valid check-in. Over the four-day challenge, faculty members made full use of their spare time and daily commutes to stay active and complete their step goals. Many encouraged one another and shared fitness experiences, filling the winter campus with warmth and vitality while promoting healthy living.

The successful implementation of these two sports activities not only helped faculty and staff strengthen their physical fitness and perseverance through exercise, but also cultivated a united, harmonious, and positive campus culture. Looking ahead, the College of Chemical Engineering will continue to be guided by the needs of its faculty and staff, organizing cultural and sports activities. These efforts will inject sustained vitality into the College’s high-quality development, deepen collegial friendships.
