Prof. Le Yu from the Beijing University of Chemical Technology’s College of Chemical Engineering and the State Key Laboratory of Organic-Inorganic Composites was appointed Associate Editor of the prestigious journal Science Advances on October 21st, 2025. Prof. Yu participates in the review and editing of research papers in the Zn/Na/Li metal batteries, water splitting, and supercapacitors and plays an important role in spreading important scientific findings to researchers around the world.

Prof. Le Yu is currently a Full Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the College of Chemical Engineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Deputy Director (Person in Charge) of Planning and Discipline Construction Office. His research interests include nanostructured materials for secondary ion batteries, supercapacitors, electrocatalysis. He has published more than 140 research papers in high-profile journals including Science Advances, Advanced Materials, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Advanced Energy Materials, ACS Energy Letters with a total citation over 29000. Among them, 42 papers are the ESI Highly Cited Papers. 11 papers were highlighted by the journals as Front Cover/Back Cover/Inside Cover paper. 1 paper was highlighted as Frontispiece paper. 2 papers were selected by the editors as VIP paper. Right now, his H-index is 83. In his new role as Associate Editor, Professor Yu will primarily handle manuscripts in research areas such as zinc-metal batteries, lithium-metal batteries, and capacitors.
