BUCT Hosts National Chemical Safety Knowledge Competition for University Students

From April 18 to 20, 2025, the Final Round of the First National University Student Chemical Safety Knowledge Competition was successfully held at the Changping Campus of Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT). The event was co-organized by the Chemical Engineering Committee of the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (CIESC) and the Safety Office of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, and guided by CIESC. BUCT’s College of Chemical Engineering served as the host.

The opening ceremony on April 19 featured remarks by BUCT Vice President Su Haijia, CIESC Deputy Secretary-General Hu Jie, Chief Judge Wang Da (Chief Engineer of the China Chemical Safety Association), and other distinguished guests. They emphasized the competition's importance in advancing chemical safety governance and fostering innovation-driven safety education.

The competition included three segments: theoretical assessment, simulation-based exercises, and hands-on practice, designed to test five core dimensions of student safety competence: awareness, risk assessment, safe operation, PPE usage, and emergency response.

This event marked a significant step forward in national collaboration and innovation in chemical safety education.
