BUCT and Taylor & Francis Group Sign Memorandum of Strategic Partnership

On June 18, 2025, Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) and Taylor & Francis Group officially signed a Memorandum of Strategic Partnership at BUCT’s Chaoyang Campus Conference Center. The agreement marks a significant step forward in enhancing academic publishing, international exchange, and global impact.


    Leon Heward-Mills, President of Global Academic Group and Chief Content Officer of Taylor & Francis Group, attended the ceremony. Vice President of BUCT, Prof. GAN Zhihua, met with the delegation and delivered a welcome address. The signing ceremony was chaired by Prof. CHENG Daojian, Dean of the College of Chemical Engineering.


    Prof. GAN expressed appreciation for the partnership, noting that Taylor & Francis enjoys a stellar reputation in the global academic community and has long supported interdisciplinary and international collaboration. He emphasized BUCT’s strong commitment to research, innovation, and global engagement, and voiced confidence that the collaboration will bring substantial progress in scholarly publishing and talent development.


    Leon Heward-Mills highlighted the strong foundation of trust and openness between the two institutions. He expressed his hope that this strategic partnership would deepen mutual understanding and expand cooperation in key areas including journal development, academic book publishing, and international graduate training.


    Ms. FENG Jianghong, Deputy Director of BUCT’s Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, introduced the university’s academic profile. Both parties engaged in productive discussions on future joint initiatives.

    

    The strategic agreement, signed by Prof. GAN and Mr. Heward-Mills, establishes a solid framework for long-term, pragmatic cooperation based on shared values and mutual benefit.

    

    Also in attendance were Mr. WANG Yu, Chair of the University Library, and Prof. SUN Baochang, Vice Dean of the College of Chemical Engineering.
