Recently, the interdisciplinary dual-degree program in Environmental Engineering + Big Data Management and Application proposed by our college has been officially approved by the Beijing Academic Degrees Committee. This marks the third interdisciplinary talent training platform developed by our college, following the successful implementation of the Chemical Engineering and Technology + Big Data Management and Application and Chemical Engineering and Technology + French programs. It signifies another solid step forward in our efforts to promote interdisciplinary education and talent cultivation.
This newly approved program aligns with China’s national “dual carbon” (carbon peaking and carbon neutrality) strategy and deeply integrates the disciplinary strengths of environmental engineering and big data technology. It aims to cultivate a new generation of high-caliber, innovative professionals who possess both solid expertise in environmental governance and advanced skills in environmental big data mining and analysis, enabling them to effectively engage in the development and management of smart environmental protection systems.
The program will begin independent enrollment in September 2025, with an initial intake of 30 students. Leveraging our strong faculty, advanced teaching facilities, and extensive practical resources, the college is committed to providing students with a high-quality learning environment and a dynamic development platform—empowering them to shine in the interdisciplinary frontiers of green development and digital transformation.
