On January 8th , 2024 College of Chemical Engineering Outstanding Young Scholars Forum was held in the Conference Center of East Campus. The forum was carried out in a combination of online and offline methods. Outstanding young talents from universities and research institutes domestic and overseas, such as University of Mainz (Germany), Technical University of Munich (Germany), University of Hannover (Germany), University of Ghent (Belgium), National University of Singapore (Singapore), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Tsinghua University (China), Tongji University (China) and so on were invited to participate in the forum and gave academic oral presentation. Prof. Cheng Daojian, Dean of College of Chemical Engineering, Prof. Liu Dahuan, Vice Dean, Prof. Lin Aijun, Vice Dean, Prof. Zhu Jiqin, Head of Department of Industrial Catalysis, and Prof. Zhang Tingting, Head of Department of Environmental Engineering, were present at the meeting, and the forum was presided over by Prof. Liu Dahuan.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Cheng Daojian, on behalf of the college, warmly welcomed the young scholars from home and abroad. He introduced the current situation of research and talent cultivation in the College of Chemical Engineering , and put forward his hope to the young scholars around the four major actions being implemented by the School at this stage, namely, increasing the attraction and cultivation of talents, promoting the enhancement of teaching, promoting the fusion of science and education and strengthening the cooperation between industry, academia and research, and hoping that all the young people can find the platform suitable for their own development from the 5-10 years' development plan.
During the meeting, all the young talents at home and abroad made wonderful academic presentation and elaborated on the work planning for the school. For each young scholar's academic research content and future career planning, the college leadership and the report carried out in-depth exchanges and discussions.
This forum is one of the important initiatives of the talent attraction and cultivation hundred and ten project of the college, aiming at attracting outstanding young scholars at home and abroad to join the college, promoting the construction of the college's talent team, assisting the college's discipline construction, and driving the college's high-quality development.
