The 4 top talent classes of the university enrolled in 2021 were managed by Hongde College. In order to enable Hongde College students to have a deeper understanding of chemical engineering, on the morning of April 9, the college organized more than 30 students to visit the research laboratory and conduct interchange activities in the College of Chemical Engineering. Professor Han Huibin from The General Office of Hongde College, Dean Qiu Jieshan and Vice Dean Liu Qingya from the College of Chemical Engineering, Professor Ji Peijun and tutor Gu Junyu from the major of “Chemical Engineering Talent”attended the activity. 

The students first visited the Supergravity Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education and the 9 scientific research laboratories of the College, including Efficient Conversion of Heavy Organic Resources, Molecular and Material Simulation, Separation of New Materials and Separation Process Strengthening, Two-dimensional Materials, New Energy and Molecular Energy Materials. The teachers and seniors in charge of the laboratory explained the research projects carried out by each laboratory in detail. Then, graduates of the“Chemical Engineering Talent class, Zhang yidong and Chen Xintuo, shared their research ideas and interest. Zhu Yiwei and Xu Lang, students from the class of 2018, shared their learning experience and gains in the college. In the end, Vice Dean Liu Qingya answered the students' questions about characteristic courses, postgraduate guarantee and direct doctoral policy. Dean Qiu Jieshan introduced present situation and employment advantages of the major of College of Chemical Engineering, and encouraged the students to work hard to improve themselves.

Following the activities of Afternoon Tea with Teaching Dean and Face to Face with the Major carried out by Hongde College, this visit and interchange activity will further strengthen the understanding of the students on chemical industry. It enable the students to appreciate the fun and challenges of engaging in research, enhance students' interest and play a positive role in promoting the upcoming triage of large categories.
