On the afternoon of October 25, 2021, the College of Chemical Engineering held the "the College of Chemical Engineering 2021 Discipline Development Conference" in the East Campus Science Hall. Party Secretary of the College Chen Xiaochun, Dean Qiu Jieshan, Vice Dean of Teaching Liu Qingya, Vice Dean of Scientific Research Cheng Daojian and all the teachers attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Chen Xiaochun, Secretary of the School Party Committee.

First of all, Dean Qiu Jieshan made a career development report for the faculty. He made a comprehensive summary and prospect of the discipline development of the college from three aspects: the college discipline development plan, the guiding ideology and development ideas, and the key tasks that the college needs to strengthen in the future. Dean Qiu Jieshan pointed out that the college will target the internationally renowned highland of chemical engineering and technology and the innovation source of new ideas and technologies, firmly seize the opportunity of the new round of "double first-class" construction, actively adapt to the trend of the discipline develpoment, and make further adjustments to optimize the discipline structure. Overcoming inertia, highlighting the characteristics, strengthening integration, focusing on the key, gathering talents, building pillars, keeping in mind the original intention and mission, not being distracted, working together the college will build a first-class academic and world-famous chemical engineering and technology discipline.

Next, Chen Xiaochun, secretary of the party committee of the college, made a phased summary of the study of party’s history and the next deployment to the whole teachers of the college. He emphasized that all teachers in the college should clarify the importance of party’s history learning, establish a scientific view of history, and draw wisdom and strength from party’s history learning. The college will continue to develop party’s history learning education and require all teachers to study party’s history seriously and achieve new results of "reasoning, credibility, ethics, and dedication". Then, Secretary Chen Xiaochun led all teachers to carry out the study of teachers’ ethics and style, and all teachers once again studied the "Ten Guidelines for Professional Behavior of College Teachers in the New Era".Secretary Chen Xiaochun emphasized that strengthening the construction of teachers’ ethics and work style has practical significance for the education process, and requires every faculty and staff to promote the development of the college’s education with excellent ethics and style.

Liu Qingya, the vice dean of teaching, gave a work report to the faculty and staff of the college on the college's undergraduate teaching and talent training.In the report, Deputy Dean Liu Qingya made a comprehensive summary of the college's teaching work in 2020, analyzed the existing problems, and proposed future construction plans.Based on the three aspects: the overall goal of the college's discipline construction, the first round of "double first-class" construction discipline achievements and the overall direction of the discipline construction of "chemical engineering and technology", Cheng Daojian, deputy dean of scientific research, made an in-depth and  comprehensive report on the construction goals of the college's scientific research work, the existing gaps and the next steps to be taken.

Through the convening of the Disciplinary Development Conference, all faculty members have a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the requirements of the college’s party building work, teachers’ ethics construction, and future discipline development work, as well as clarify the direction and goals of college’s future development.Teachers participating in the conference expressed that the learning and education of party’s history is an important opportunity for us to review history and draw strength. Through the learning of party’s history, we have strengthened our sense of mission as teachers. On the one hand, we must strictly abide by the bottom line of teachers’ ethics, and influence and educate students with noble ethics. On the other hand, we must devote ourselves to the development of the college with full enthusiasm and contribute to the comprehensive development of the college.The School of Chemical Engineering regularly convenes a school-wide faculty conference to discuss the discipline development of the school, carry out the construction of teachers’ ethics and style, and summarize the various work of the school, so as to promote the construction and comprehensively improve the level of the school's work.
